Growing up on a small hobby farm has allowed me to express my passion for animals and gardening. This environment required me to work outside and getting my hands dirty, and because of this I have learned the value of dedication, hard work, and the meaning of reaping what I sow.
I have a strong familiarity with several social media sites including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, and Pinterest; I also have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs. I am highly-organized, task oriented, and I pay attention to the finer details.
I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English (with emphasis in Literature) from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in May 2016. In this field of study, I often times have been required to take several writing emphasis courses and literature courses within a given semester. In doing so, I acquired a way to balance my time while reading multiple book and writing several papers at once, while also maintaining a steady job, and attending weekly meetings for a student organization.
Recently, I interned for the Marketing and Communications department at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. In this role, I was responsible for editing and writing press releases and features within a given deadline, balancing several projects at once, and often times reaching out to students and community members through email or social media, such as Facebook, in order to interview them. This position helped me refine my communication and organization skills, along with flexibility in schedule change.
I also reviewed and proofed various written works as the Chief Copyeditor for Sheepshead Review, a literary magazine of works of visual arts, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. I have been working at an Elementary school as America Reads Tutor for four years, there I also help out in the Boys and Girls Club After School Program. I faithfully attend Turn Point Pentecostal Church, where I am a helper in Sunday School and the Media Department.
